Note: This refill kit comes with an electronic cartridge resetter which takes seconds to reset the cartridge without a smartchip.
This printer uses smartchips to guess the amount of toner remaining based on 5% coverage and are not accurate. Often the smartchip will report the cartridge as empty when in fact there could be as much as 30% toner remaining. It is therefore desirable to reset the cartridge before refilling so as to truly empty the cartridge so as not to waste the remaining toner. The resetter can pay for itself by resetting the original cartridges the first time.
